19 oil blocks identified across the country will be the subject of calls for tenders – DRC
The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Rubens Mikindo announced that he had identified nineteen oil blocks across the country and which will soon be the subject of calls for tenders. He said it on the sidelines of the Hydrocarbons scientific days held from January 28 to 29 in Kinshasa.
“Thus, the review of the oil and gas heritage of the DRC enabled us to select a total of nineteen oil blocks which will soon be the subject of calls for tenders. These blocks are distributed as follows: nine blocks in the sedimentary basin of the central basin, three in the coastal basin in On Shore, four in the Graben Tanganyika, three in Lake Kivu ”, he explained to the audience. ‘assistance.
The Minister of Hydrocarbons reassured that the nineteen identified oil blocks will in particular make it possible to inflate the national budget.
“My ministry has worked to accelerate the work leading to the discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits in the three sedimentary basins of the country in order to increase production and improve the sector’s contribution to the state budget”, added Rubens Mikindo.
During these two-day meetings, the experts reflected on the challenges of the development of the hydrocarbon sector in the DRC in all its aspects. They have also made it possible to bring together the scientific world and economic operators from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons.
