7 subcontracting companies sign for 100 million USD with TFM
On Thursday, August 29, 2024, in Fungurume, Lualaba province, Miguel Kashal Katemb, the Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP), oversaw the signing of contracts between seven local companies and the mining giant Tenke Fungurume Mining.
The contracts, totaling $100 million, will allow these subcontractors to supply goods and services to Tenke Fungurume Mining.
The companies involved include Invest Congo Mining Sarl, Mundo Construction Sarl, Almer Engineering Sarl, Victor Mining Services Sarl, KM-Oil, Panaco Sarl, and Groupe Kongo Oil.
During the ceremony, Miguel Kashal commended the President of the Republic for his initiatives in promoting youth entrepreneurship in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“I urge these seven companies to begin their work with discipline and integrity, supporting the President’s efforts to correct the economic missteps of the past.
The President has expressed his desire to see a significant portion of our economy in Congolese hands. He envisions the creation of Congolese billionaires during his tenure, and I believe this is achievable,” Kashal remarked.
The chairman of Tenke Fungurume Mining reiterated the company’s commitment to collaborating with the Congolese government, local partners, and communities.
“As one of the largest mining companies operating in the DRC, Tenke Fungurume Mining is dedicated to upholding Congolese laws, including the subcontracting regulations, to foster a mutually beneficial relationship with the government, local partners, and communities,” he stated. He also highlighted TFM’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with ARSP and local partners.
