Félix Tshisekedi: “our mining assets can be used to finance education”
Félix Tshisekedi once again defended free basic education. In front of the forces of Bunia, in Ituri, he responded to those who criticize the operationalization of free basic education.
“I saw a reflection from someone who said: is education in the United States free? The president dreams. It is he who dreams. The USA is another system. They have made education an elitist system: the more we have the means, the more we can access to education. But you have seen that they themselves organize scholarships for the less fortunate. It is their system. We also have our system. The USA does not have coltan, diamonds, copper, cobalt, gold, nickel ”, declared the Head of State (Editor’s note. Many of these minerals are actually produced and / or exported by the USA).
Félix Tshisekedi cited the possibility of using the proceeds from these products to finance education.
“Our mining assets can be used to finance education. And even provide a fund for future generations. We can do it “.
And to add:
“We are not subhumans. If in other skies they have done it, we can do it. Libya only has oil. In Quatar, the emir explained to me how his father had built their country with gas. We have gas in Lake Kivu. We can use it ”.
