The Next Generation of Dump Trucks
The new TA 230 Litronic has been described by Liebherr as the next generation of dump trucks. It has been developed for rugged off-road use. The TA 230 won the Red Dot Award for high design quality in 2021. The machine can tackle any terrain. It has an efficient drivetrain, permanent 6 x 6 all-wheel drive, reliable traction control and solid axle mounts. It has undergone extensive testing on a test track that was specifically built for it. These features allow it to produce incredibly fast cycle times.
This machine is not just powerful, robust and efficient, but also has a machine body designed for easy maintenance. It has a smart machine check-up and unhindered access to the entire engine bay. This minimizes daily maintenance work. It possesses a 6-cylinder engine with 12 litre displacement and 265 Kw / 360 hp (ISO 9249) to stage V emissions standards. It has an automatic, 8-speed powershift transmission that ensures force is distributed where it is needed. There is also an option for automatic traction control. The machine when empty weighs about 24, 600 kg. It’s travel speed forward is 57.00 km/h and it’s travel speed backwards is 16.00km/h.
This machine was developed primarily for transporting excavated materials in the mining industry and for use in major infrastructure projects. This machine is extremely powerful and robust. It has been configured for maximum payload in continuous operation, including in difficult terrain.
It possesses an improved dump box which is large and solidly designed. It has a straight dump box front and low loading edge. It has a long dump box chute to prevent material loss and it has an optional dump box cladding and heating system.
Some of the newly developed driver’s cab features; an excellent panoramic window without any obstructing struts, a short, inclined bonnet, sophisticated interior equipment, numerous storage compartments, storage options, USB charging ports and an air strung driver’s seat. Additionally, driving comfort is by the speed dependent steering, which allows light and precise maneuvering at low speeds and sensitive steering and high speeds.
LiDAT, Liebherr’s data transfer and location system, enables contractors to manage, monitor and control their entire fleet efficiently in terms of machine data recording, data analysis, fleet management and service. All the main machine data can be viewed at any time using a web browser. The integral weighing system in the TA 230 also enables you to access weighing data and therefore assess the productivity of your Liebherr dump truck. A maintenance report is also available, as for your other Liebherr machines.
The TA 230 Litronic is currently available for purchase in countries around Europe. Red Dot exhibited the TA 230 on their website from 21st June 2021.
