DRC: thanks to the mining royalty from Ruashi, the local community salutes the achievements

Since the local community of the commune of Ruashi in Lubumbashi began to collect the mining royalty, many achievements are already visible. Enough to delight the local population who only asks to benefit from the riches of their province.

This observation was made by a group of journalists from Kinshasa during a field visit to Chinese mining companies based in the former Katanga.

These women and men from the Kinshasa media went there at the invitation of the Union of Chinese-owned mining companies.

Indeed, the new mining code requires that the mining royalty be used to meet the needs of the community in the area where the mining company is established.

Thus, thanks to the mining royalty from the Chinese company Ruashi Mining, the local authorities have implemented a few projects to meet the needs of their citizens.

In Ruashi commune, the old building that housed the office has been given a facelift.

Now a new building has been built next to the old one which has been rehabilitated.

As much as the morgue which benefited from this royalty, schools, and hospitals profited from dividends of this Chinese mining company.

What to remember from Ruashi Mining?

The Ruashi Mining company is a limited liability company (SPRL) belonging to the METOREX group which is made up of several sectors of which Ruashi Mining is considered to be the lung of the group.

The Ruashi mine is located northeast of the city of Lubumbashi at more or less 10Km.

It is limited to the north by the LUANO airport; to the south by Bendera, the Kalukuluku mine and the annexed municipality; to the east by the village Kaboba and to the west by the Hewa Bora district.

Ruashi Mining currently has three (3) surface mines named Ruashi 1, Ruashi 2 and Ruashi 3 or Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3 and are located by the following geographic coordinates which range from 27 ° 30 ′ to 27 ° 40 ′ east longitude and 11 ° 40 ′ to 11 ° 40 ′ south longitude.
