Purpose of the role:
To assist the dewatering section with electrical repairs, maintenance, statutory checks, compliance and inspections of dewatering infrastructure, workshop machinery, lighting plants and generators
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all electrical maintenance, repairs and inspections are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, to assure maximum reliability and uptime.
- Meeting set work targets for daily work group activities in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Achieving results through prioritizing activities, monitoring the progress of assignments, and holding one self-accountable for the results.
- Motivate yourself and others in overcoming obstacles and achieving goals.
- Planning & assisting in laying out of work on new projects.
- Ensuring maximum plant availability at all time.
- A proven ability to work with other disciplines to achieve minimal disruption to plant operating times
Qualifications & Experience
- Full Grade 12 certificate
- Craft Certificate in Electrical
- Knowledge of instrumentation is advantageous
- Valid Zambian driver’s license
- Must be a member of EIZ and registered with ERB
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a large mining operation or similar environment
Job Specific Competencies
- Proven experience with auto electrical preventative maintenance with a focus on heavy diesel equipment and light plants, unplanned repair & installation tasks on plant equipment.
- Excellent trouble shooting skills
- Valid Zambian driver’s license essential
- Ability to multi-task & work well in a team environment
- Good verbal and written communications skills
