SENIOR, SPECIALIST – COMMERCIAL
Purpose of the role:
The Commercial Department is responsible for ensuring that the Mining Production Department of FQMOL, namely, Equipment Maintenance, Safety, Training, Construction and Administration have all the requisite goods and services sourced from around the world, on time, in the required quantities, qualities (sureties and guarantees) and at competitive prices.
FQMOL has identified a need for a Specialist in Kansanshi to handle all new and ongoing improvement/optimization projects. This is a critical role and key to improvement of productivity and efficiency in the operation of the Mining Division.
The department maintains approximately 30,000 lines of inventory with a budget in the region of USD 200 million worth of expenditure per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include:
- Identify inventory status using data mining and in consultation with end users and suppliers, negotiate the optimal utilization/disposal.
- Develop an electronic system to track rotable spares throughout the process of repair to their return to stock as re-usable components.
- Implement a serialization module within the company ERP system in order to track the usage history of selected critical serialized components through their lifetimes, for warranty purposes.
- Transition away from the company holding inventories towards local vendor held stock arrangements thereby reducing working capital requirements and empowering local business.
- Review of Priority One logistics models of the company to find cost and efficiency improvement opportunities to the business.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Performance Reports to optimize the operations of the Commercial Department.
- Update Share Point Commercial Program to track progress of ANSI (Approval of New Stock Items), SLC (Stock Level Change) and IR (Inaccuracy Report) requests through to completion electronically.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Degree in Project Management and Analytical Methods and Techniques from a recognized University.
- Degree in International Business from a recognized University.
- Degree or higher qualification in Analytics: Operational Research and Risk Analysis.
- International experience in Project Management, Data Analysis, Financial, Materials and Supply Chain Management in the Extractive Industries.
- Knowledge of use of Six Sigma and experience with big international companies and the consulting industry is an added advantage.
- Vast experience in international Procurement and Logistics.
- Skills in the extraction, analysis, reporting and utilization of commercial data to optimize performance in areas of inventory management, procurement, logistics and expediting.
- International procurement for delivery on time, in the required quantities, qualities and at competitive prices.
- Quality Assessment and Control.
- Statistical analytics skills, including the use of XML, Microsoft tools like MSRS and SSIS, ODBC, Access Power BI, Cognos and Sharepoint in order to optimize performance in areas of inventory management, procurement, logistics and expediting.
- Interpersonal communication.
- Forecasting Skills.
