Leadership Transition at Mutanda Mining Signals a New Era

Christian Luhembwe, who held the position of General Manager at Mutanda Mining (MUMI SPRL), a major mining company in Haut-Katanga, has officially resigned from his key role as of November 3, 2023, according to a press release issued on the same day.

In the press release, the management of MUMI SPRL emphasized that leadership changes are a common occurrence in the business world and clarified that they accepted Christian’s resignation due to his pursuit of new projects, effective immediately.

MUMI management promptly disclosed the name of Christian Luhembwe’s successor. Mark Devis, the Managing Director of Cooper Africa, another mining company, will temporarily assume the role of General Director, in line with his current regional responsibilities.

The press release also outlines MUMI management’s commitment to initiating a meticulous process to identify and appoint a highly qualified professional capable of filling the void created by Christian’s departure.

The management of Mutanda Mining expressed its appreciation for Christian’s dedicated service and wished him every success in his future endeavors.
