Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC Announces Board Resignation and Appointment
Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC (CEC) has made significant changes to its Board of Directors, in line with Section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements.
The company has announced the resignation of Mr. Derek Chime as a director, effective April 2, 2024. Simultaneously, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Auke Lont as a director, also effective April 2, 2024.
Mr. Lont brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the energy sector, having served as the Chief Executive Officer of Statnett, Norway’s national power transmission company, for 12 years until 2021.
With over 25 years of experience spanning across various segments of the energy industry, including oil and gas, retail, and power generation, Mr. Lont has held numerous directorships in prominent energy companies.
His notable roles include Chairman of the Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology, director of Gasunie (the national gas transmission company of the Netherlands), and director of Bane NOR (the railway infrastructure company of Norway).
Most recently, he was appointed as a director of the newly established National Transmission Company of South Africa. Mr. Lont holds a Master of Econometrics from Vrije University in Amsterdam.
