Purpose of the role:
- To assist the Electrical Supervisor with High Voltage Switching, skid transformer and switch gear repair and maintenance, trolley assist line maintenance and repairs, dewatering infrastructure maintenance and repairs, workshop repairs and maintenance, statutory checks and compliance
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all maintenance and High Voltage Switching is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, to assure maximum reliability and uptime.
- Meeting set work targets for daily work group activities in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Achieving results through prioritizing activities, monitoring the progress of assignments, and holding self-accountable for the results.
- Motivate yourself and others in overcoming obstacles and achieving goals.
- Planning & assisting in laying out of work on new projects.
- Ensuring 100% plant availability at all time.
- A proven ability to work with other disciplines to achieve minimal disruption to plant operating times
Qualification:
- Must have Grade 12 Certificate
- Electrical Craft Certificate or better
- Valid Zambian driver’s license
- HV Switching essential
Experience and Skills
- At least 2 years’ experience in similar role.
- Proven experience with Electrical preventative maintenance with a focus on HV equipment, unplanned repair & installation tasks on plant equipment.
- Relevant experience in the mining industry
- Be familiar with HV Switching and Distribution systems.
- Be familiar with Motor Control systems and Motor Protection Relay’s and settings.
- Be able to read Electrical drawings & fault finding
- Be familiar with various Instruments in the pit
- Ability to multi-task & work well in a team environment
- Good verbal and written communications skills
