ANAPEX and UNIDO Collaborate on Export Sector Strategies for DRC
The National Agency for the Promotion of Exports (ANAPEX) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held discussions on Thursday regarding the development and implementation of sectoral export strategies in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
“We had productive discussions between ANAPEX and UNIDO on implementing sectoral strategies for export sectors as part of the preparatory work for drafting these strategies,” said Kinkani Hervé Landry, Director of Studies and Planning at ANAPEX.
Kinkani emphasized that the meeting also aimed to mobilize donor support for producers and potential exporters in executing these strategies.
UNIDO, through its trade facilitation policies, has developed specialized programs that can assist ANAPEX in enhancing export promotion efforts.
These include technical cooperation, research and analysis, quality standards, industrial networking, and partnerships for knowledge transfer.
As ANAPEX continues to expand, it seeks to strengthen collaborations with UN agencies like UNIDO to fulfill its mission of boosting DRC’s export sector.
On February 14, 2025, ANAPEX conducted an awareness session for exporters, emphasizing compliance with international trade standards.
The session specifically addressed the Chinese market’s requirements for the pepper sector, highlighting ANAPEX’s support in helping producers meet these standards.
This ongoing collaboration aims to improve the competitiveness of DRC’s exports, ensuring they meet global quality and regulatory expectations.
