DRC exported 14,333.49 tonnes of cassiterite in the first half of 2020 for a value of USD 101 million
The Democratic Republic of the Congo exported 14,333.49 tonnes of cassiterite in the first half of 2020 for a total value of 101 million USD 15,488 including 4,869.49 tonnes (for a value of 28 million USD 228,762) of cassiterite from the artisanal mining and 9,464.27 tonnes (valued at USD 72 million 786,726) from the industrial sector, according to statistics provided by the Ministry of Mines.
About 50% of artisanal cassiterite exports come from the former province of Katanga and the rest come from other provinces at a rate of 7% for North Kivu, 17% for South Kivu and 26% for Maniema.
As for the exports of cassiterite from industries, they remain predominant by the province of North Kivu with the entry into production of the ABM company with over 99% of the overall volume of exports.
