Red Rock Launches Geophysics Program in DRC

London-listed Red Rock Resources has mobilized a team for its 80% Luanshimba license in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to launch a geophysics program.

The program serves as a follow-up to major copper and cobalt anomalies identified in a previous termite mound sampling program in late 2018. The geophysics program is overseen by Minerals Exploration Associates and consists of a soil magnetics survey and an induced polarization survey.

The company will send raw data to Ronacher McKenzie Geoscience for interpretation. The program will help identify conductive targets at the site and enable drill targeting.

“The strong anomalies identified during initial exploration in this favorable geological setting, with copper values in the regolith samples up to 519 ppm and cobalt values up to 425 ppm, are likely very significant in this part of the copper belt and suggest the presence of Copper and cobalt mineralization at depth.

“As soon as we start pitting and drilling, we probably need to be on site at all times to keep the manual activities under control. Hence, good prep work, including geophysics, is possible to refine the targeting and develop a cost-effective program for subsurface exploration was an important next step and is now ongoing, ”said Chairman Andrew Bell
