Overall Job Purpose
Kalumbila Minerals Limited is looking for a Zambian graduate trainee with a University/College degree. The Commercial Graduate Management Trainee (CGMT) will rotate through the Sentinel commercial department working on projects or tasks as assigned by the commercial manager. The purpose of the role is to expose a young graduate to mining specific commercial tasks with the ultimate goal of progression into a senior commercial position. There is potential for rotation of the CGMT across other Zambian sites.
Specific Job Responsibility
The CGMT will work closely with the commercial superintendents and commercial manager on tasks and projects as directed by the commercial manager. The CGMT will work on projects that may involve:
- Procurement
- Warehousing
- Logistics
- Contracts
- Finance
- Business improvement
The responsibilities of the CGMT will vary depending on the assignment or project.
Job Specific Competencies
The CGMT should ideally have:
- Knowledge of supervisory practices, principles and techniques
- Basic finance knowledge
- Basic knowledge of how the mining industry operates and basic knowledge of the production process
- Knowledge of basic procurement principles
- Knowledge of how to use basic analytical tools
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Experience Required to Perform in This Job
2 years’ work experience minimum in a commercial field will be advantageous
Qualifications
- A Bachelors’ degree in Commerce, Business, Finance or Law although other disciplines may be considered.
- Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply membership advantageous.
- A minimum of a Merit or equivalent will be advantageous.
- MBA/ CFA/ CA will be an added advantage.
