A project for the electrification of the city of Kananga by solar energy announced | DRC

The national deputy Jean Pierre Kayembe, arrived this Friday 28/8/2020 as part of his parliamentary recess in Kananga, announced the electrification of the city of Kananga, news that all the inhabitants of the capital of Kasai Central are waiting for for ages.

“a few months ago, the office of the national assembly had written to all the caucuses of national deputies to announce to them the provision of the ministry of the plan of a fund by a chinese firm. It was question that each caucus presents a bankable project to be carried out in each province “, deputy Jean Pierre Kayembe revealed to the press.

“After meeting in our caucus, we felt that electricity was very necessary for the city of Kananga. While waiting for the construction of the hydroelectric power station of Katende, we can use solar energy. We have submitted a project. as for this to the office of the National Assembly which sent it to the ministry of planning. Our project was accepted and we, as elected officials of this province, we follow up so that this project cannot be diverted “specified the elected representative of Kananga who did not give details on the level of the financing of this project nor on the capacity of the solar power station to be built in Kananga.

The city of Kananga has been plunging for several years into obscurity that promotes insecurity and slows down any development initiative. The national electricity company, Snel, rarely serves less than 5% of the city’s inhabitants 6 hours a day with thermal electricity.
