AFD to Provide €41 Million for 6 MW Photovoltaic Plant in Kabinda
The French Development Agency (AFD) announces the mobilization of an amount of 41 million euros for the construction works of the photovoltaic power plant of 6 megawatts in the city of Kabinda, capital of the province of Lomami.
The announcement was made to the provincial authorities on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, by an AFD delegation led by its Deputy Director, Giani Saterna.
According to him, the French Development Agency has agreed to increase, to increase its commitments for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). And among the priority sectors are notably access to energy.
“We had discussions with the Government on certain geographical and technical orientations. The French Development Agency has decided to finance a major project, an urban electrification program in Kabinda.
We have agreed together and at the request of the Government, to examine an electrification program for the city of Kabinda for which our body and our Board of Directors decided in December 2022 to grant 41 million euros. “, explained Giani Saterna.
