Africa: Continent Nears Nears 7.5 Million Covid-19 Recoveries
As of September 22, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 8,182,579 while over 83,245,773 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.
Reported deaths in Africa reached 206,749 and 7,482,146 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases 2,886,331 and 86,376 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (922,222), Tunisia (700,807), Ethiopia (335,273), Libya ( 333,064 ), Egypt ( 298,296 ) and Kenya ( 246,956 ).
The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
