Africa: Nearly 62 Million Covid-19 Vaccinations Administered Across Continent
As of August 27, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 7,660,025 while over 61,914,095 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.
Reported deaths in Africa reached 192,563 and 6,758,734 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases 2,734,973 and 80,826 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (836,494), Tunisia (651,035), Libya (302,177), Ethiopia (301,713), Egypt (287,159) and Kenya (232,869).
The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
