ARSP DG Advocates Chinese-Congolese Partnerships for Value Chain Growth
Miguel Katemb Kashal, Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP), called for a “win-win” partnership between Chinese and Congolese entrepreneurs during the DRC-China Economic Forum in Beijing on September 3, 2024.
Addressing an audience that included members of the DRC government, Chinese business leaders, and other participants, Kashal emphasized the Congolese government’s support for this mutually beneficial collaboration.
He highlighted the commitment of President Félix Tshisekedi to fostering such partnerships in the subcontracting sector.
Kashal praised Chinese companies already partnering with Congolese businesses, noting that these collaborations benefit from state support through the ARSP.
He underscored President Tshisekedi’s focus on developing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which are crucial for national development.
“The President’s goal is to develop SMEs because they are key to national progress. The long-term vision is to forge partnerships between Congolese and Chinese entrepreneurs, particularly in the mining sector, with the profits reinvested in non-mining sectors to foster broader economic development. The DRC is open to these partnerships and aims for them to be mutually beneficial,” said Kashal.
President Félix Tshisekedi attended the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, accompanied by a delegation of ministers, provincial governors, and representatives from public enterprises.
