At the end of June 2022, copper production stood at 1,088,364 tonne-DRC
Copper production in the first half of 2022 stood at 1,088,364 tonnes in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to the summary of statistical data from the Central Bank of Congo (BCC).
According to this document, during the same period last year (2021), copper production in the DRC was estimated at 812,566 tonnes.
For the whole of 2021, total copper production in the Democratic Republic of the Congo was estimated at 1,797,836 tonnes, according to data from the Ministry of Mines.
The economy of the Democratic Republic of Congo has made very positive progress over the past five (5) years. This, following the improvement in the price of mining products including copper, cobalt, diamonds and many other minerals.
According to specialists in the sector, the country has the second largest copper reserves in the world with 10% of the total recorded on the planet and above all the largest reserves of cobalt (nearly 50%).
