The Democratic Republic of the Congo produced 877.4 tonnes of coltan in the first 9 months of 2020 compared to 998.2 tonnes in the same period in 2019, a drop in production of 12.1%, statistics show. provided by the Central Bank of Congo. South Kivu Provincial government seized 80 bags of coltan smuggled into Bukavu

The National Mining Fraud Service in South Kivu intercepted 80 bags of semi-precious coltan ores fraudulently entered the town of Bukavu since Tuesday, June 23, 2020.   These minerals, according to the National Anti-Mining Fraud Service, were hidden in a fictitious depot in Bukavu.
