Congolese Mining Sector in Focus at France-DRC Investment Roundtable
During the investment roundtable between France and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Paris on April 30, 2024, the Congolese mining sector took center stage.
Mr. MABOLIA, Director General of the Mining Cadastre, outlined measures ensuring investment security, exploitation permit procedures, and the benefits of local mineral processing.
This event, held alongside President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi’s official visit to Paris, was organized in collaboration with the Ministries of Economy and Finance and Europe and Foreign Affairs.
It marks a significant step in bolstering Franco-Congolese economic relations, following the Kinshasa Economic Forum in March 2023, which aimed to foster partnerships in mining, digital, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
A key highlight was the signing of a cooperation pact between GECAMINES and BRGM, focusing on safeguarding and enhancing Congolese mining heritage and revitalizing GECAMINES’ geological policy.
This partnership reflects the commitment of Presidents Tshisekedi and Macron to promote dynamic and mutually beneficial economic and industrial cooperation.
