Overall Job Purpose:
The job exists to ensure the optimisation of the Drilling GET costs through the design and implementation of adequate QAQC systems.
Specific Job Responsibility:
- Ensuring compliance with guidelines related to safety, environment and production.
- Identifying opportunities relating to Drilling Operations Ground Engagement Tools (GET).
- Working with cross functional teams to ensure that drilling data integrity is maintained to the required standard and that the Drilling App’s and data management systems are being updated at all times.
- Ensuring that the stock reorder points as indicated in the service level agreements with suppliers are enforced.
- Working closely with cross functional teams to ensure stock accuracy and availability at all times.
- Ensuring that Drilling Teams adopt and comply with good drilling practices.
- Developing SOPs and raise PRs as required.
- Short term and long term planning of GET requirements to ensure smooth operations and minimized adverse impact on production activities.
- Monitoring and responding to increasing trends in GET costs, and providing solutions to cap the escalation of GET costs.
Job Specific Competencies:
- Working knowledge of the KML GET parts, components, equipment etc.
- Proficient computer technology skills, including the ability to utilize Company authorized software.
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, suppliers.
- Effective team leadership and participation skills as part of the Drilling Leadership Team, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.

- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in the Mining Environment with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Drilling – Ground Engagement Tools (GET) for open pit mine environment.
- Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent. Other Training in Drilling, GET or other Mining Certifications will be an added advantage
- Knowledge and experience in leading and nurturing high performance teams
- Knowledge and experience in risk assessment and control systems design
- Knowledge and experience in managing compliance requirements that are related to the Open Pit Environment and Drilling GET to be specific
- Valid light vehicle and blasting licence
- Must be a member of EIZ and hold a valid membership certificate.
