DRA Water appointed by Seriti Power to develop a 2MLD Water Plant
In 2018, DRA Water was appointed by Seriti Power to develop a 2MLD high recovery mine water treatment plant for their Klipspruit Open Cast Operation in South Africa. The project scope included the design, fabrication, construction and commissioning of the 2MLD mine water treatment plant to meet the objectives set by the client.
DRA’s engineers developed a two-stage membrane process with interstage solids conditioning to meet the stringent environmental discharge specification and achieved a water recovery of >98%.

With continuous efforts to increase the plant water recovery, the strong collaborative partnership between DRA and Seriti delivered exceptional results. Innovative solutions yielded a “ Zero Liquid Discharge” operation which ultimately eliminated the need for the disposal of liquid waste.
Post the commissioning DRA Water was appointed by Seriti to provide a turnkey O&M service which included the supply of highly skilled engineers, operation and maintenance personnel, water treatment chemicals, maintenance and consumables, SHEQ and performance management.
