DRC: Minister N’samba Kalambayi launched the work of the States General of Mines
The Minister of State, Minister of Mines, Antoine N’samba Kalambayi, gave the go to the work of the States General of Mines this Thursday, July 08, 2021. The opening ceremony took place at the Government House in Kinshasa. “Let us stop perpetrating the same faults and recognized as such, let us correct together the moral, technical, financial and operational errors”, she declared.
A real challenge to each other with a view to managing differently, channeling the mineral resources of the Republic and directing revenue for development. She addressed her Administration directly to say that it has a great responsibility to meet the challenge of growth, emergence and development.
Antoinette N’samba Kalambayi also pointed out that it is not normal for the private sector in the mining sector to succeed where the administration and public mining companies cyclically fail, she added.
That is why, the minister as a house girl at the Mines, said:
“we must have the courage to lay the foundations for an immediate, responsible and honorable future”.
To do this, the Minister of Mines in her speech also invited everyone to refer in particular to the mining code and regulations, guides to the smooth running of the sector. These instruments for the good management of minerals must be implemented so that each party derives from them what is recognized as being in full responsibility.
She went on to say that together, we have a duty to move from programmed failure to a mining development strategy where the country wins, investors win and communities are built beyond mineral reserves. In these words of interpellation to the actors involved in the mining sector, the Minister asked them to become aware of their responsibility.
With these words, the Minister of Mines declared open the three-day work of the DRC’s General State of Mines by insisting to focus on the war against mining fraud which plagues the sector and relies on the contribution of all. the participants.
