DRC Prime Minister Engages IGF to Strengthen Public Finance Oversight
Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka met with a delegation from the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF), led by Inspector General Jules Alingete Key, to discuss strengthening financial oversight and reducing public sector expenses.
This meeting aligns with President Félix Tshisekedi’s directive for the government to implement strict cost-cutting measures to ease the financial burden on public institutions.
Prime Minister Suminwa emphasized the IGF’s critical role in ensuring fiscal discipline and supervising expenditure in line with the President’s instructions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Alingete commended the Prime Minister’s commitment to financial transparency and efficiency.
He highlighted that urgent expenditures would be strictly limited to security-related needs and essential travel, based on an existing interministerial decree.
“A month ago, an interministerial decree on finance and the budget was enacted under the Prime Minister’s directives to regulate emergency expenditure,” Alingete stated.
Additionally, the meeting addressed key economic and financial matters, including special exemptions. Strengthening fiscal oversight and optimizing public expenditure remain central pillars of the Suminwa Government Action Program.
