Exploitation of strategic raw materials at the center of discussion between Félix Tshisekedi and Joe Biden
The President of the DRC, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, was received on Wednesday December 14, 2022 by the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, at the White House.
The Congolese Head of State had a brief bilateral meeting with his American counterpart in the Oval Office of the White House, followed by a multilateral meeting alongside 5 other African Presidents and President Joe Biden.
The topics discussed during these meetings were: politics, diplomacy, security, trade and investment.
President Felix Tshisekedi spoke about the electoral process in the DRC, its financing and the respect of constitutional deadlines.
The DRC number one also spoke about the security situation in the east of the country, the aggression of the terrorist group M23/Rwanda and the urgent need to enforce the decisions of the Luanda mini-summit for a ceasefire. -immediate fire and withdrawal of M23 from occupied areas.
The DRC President insisted on a stronger involvement of the USA in this conflict in order to put pressure on Rwanda so that it stops its support for the M23. And he wanted to thank President Biden for Washington’s recent statements on this subject and in this direction.

The two countries agreed to work together in a win-win partnership for the benefit of their two peoples.
The American President, for his part, praised the leadership of President Félix Tshisekedi and his commitment to peace and prosperity in the DRC.
Due to national mourning, the Head of State did not participate, in the gala dinner offered by the Biden couple to their guests who went to the Washington Summit.
