DRC’s major development projects have stalled
Dry port of Kasumbalesa, Deepwater port of Banana, Construction of the terminals of N’djili and Luano, inga 3 project, rehabilitation of the national number one, are all major projects undertaken by the Republic but not always materialized.
The President of the Republic declared 2020 the year of action during his speech to Congress on 13 December 2019. This political ambition was not to mention the serious health crisis that the country, like the rest of the world, has been experiencing since the beginning of the year.
The Democratic Republic of Congo is seriously affected by the pandemic. A country with an extroverted economy, Congo Kinshasa sees its revenues significantly lower as a result of contraction and demand and supply on the international market.
As proof, the government no longer dreams of realizing the USD 11 billion programmed in its 2020 budget. This finance law will be reduced by at least 35% by a Budget Collective being prepared and to be tabled in Parliament shortly.
