Job description:
Overall Job Purpose :
Conducting data analysis and all field environmental related monitoring activities. The role involves advising the environmental management team, middle management and employees on environmental management requirements and will require to develop and implement procedures and management plans.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Undertake routine assessments on environmental conditions to establish root cause of potential operational impacts.
- Assist in preparation of technical guidelines and procedures for environmental monitoring requirements.
- Carry out daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sampling of mine emissions to determine levels of compliance.
- Ensure calibration of all environmental monitoring equipment is performed both internally and externally.
- Liaison with site and third party laboratories for required service delivery.
- Maintain work areas such as weather stations and effluent sampling points in good order.
- Recommend replacement of non-functional or worn out sampling equipment.
- Perform any other duties assigned to by supervisor

Experience required to perform in this job:
- Basic knowledge and experience with Environmental Management System (EMS).
- At least 2 years work experience in Environmental management.
- Experience in the mining industry is an added advantage.
Qualifications:
- Full Grade twelve certificate.
- At least a Bachelor of Science/Engineering in a relevant field and minimum of 2 years’ experience in environmental management.
- A valid driving licence
- Must be computer literate
