Main responsibilities
The main role of the Equipment Engineer will be to provide quality technical expertise by participating in the selection and design of flotation, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, acid production and other related mechanical equipment. Examine the process diagram and optimize the design and implementation. Be responsible for technical disclosure prior to process construction and properly review engineering design changes.
Skills
- Strong coaching and communication skills for information transmission to train members of the technical and operational team to achieve the best possible performance;
- Ability to critically examine technical issues and provide effective solutions;
- Significant ability to plan and complete work on time;
- Influence, supervise, supervise and instruct maintenance managers and operators to ensure compliance with technical standards;
- Good competence in mechanical engineering;
- Competence in project management, including planning, scheduling and control;
- Negotiating skills and strong ability to influence staff on technical matters.
Knowledge
- Design and operation of mechanical and electrical equipment;
- Structural analysis;
- Performance calculations for pumps and piping;
- Maintenance and engineering methods and best practices.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of maintenance, engineering and management of fixed installations in the mining industry, with exposure to acid / chemical processing environments;
- Technical specifications and design;
- Good knowledge and use of CAD software;
- Solid and proactive technical support for maintenance;
- Experience in managing contracts and projects.
Qualifications
- Higher degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent;
- Graduate degrees preferably in a technical or management discipline.
