Félix Tshisekedi orders an investigation “within a reasonable time” into mining fraud scandals-DRC
The President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, deplored, during the Council of Ministers of Friday, September 17, the various scandals of illegal exploitation of mineral resources.
According to the report of this Council of Ministers, several economic operators (companies or individuals) holding research permits operate instead of actual research.

In the same section, the President of the Republic instructed the Minister of Mines to take all the necessary measures to produce a clear and detailed report on this situation as well as concrete proposals accompanied by binding measures for cases of proven irregularities.
The President of the Republic asked the Prime Minister, Sama Lukonde, to set up an Interministerial Commission composed of the Ministries and public institutions concerned, mainly the Ministries of Mines and Scientific Research, in order to accelerate the project of mapping of minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
