Five Companies Secure $73 Million in Contracts with SICOMINES

Five subcontracting companies have secured contracts totaling USD 73 million with SICOMINES Mining Company, following a competitive selection process.

This achievement was made possible through the support of the Private Sector Subcontracting Regulatory Authority (ARSP).

The contracting companies are:

1.Exel Global Services SARLU

2.Bishworld SARL

3.Bofa SARL

4.Jadex Constructions SARL

5.Lake Region Venture

The contract signing ceremony, held in Lualaba, was attended by ARSP Director General Miguel Kashal, who traveled from Kolwezi for the event.

This milestone aligns with President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo’s vision for entrepreneurship and local economic development.

These contracts follow similar agreements with Kamoa Copper Company and Tenke Fungurume Mining SA in Lualaba province. They represent a significant step in fulfilling a promise made by Director General Kashal during his previous visit to Kolwezi to promote the subcontracting law.

In his address, Miguel Kashal commended President Tshisekedi for his support and reiterated his commitment to enhancing the value chain and fostering discipline in the sector. He encouraged entrepreneurs to uphold high standards and contribute to the development of a robust middle class.

Entrepreneurs expressed their gratitude, highlighting the positive impact of the President’s leadership and the ARSP’s efforts in making opportunities more accessible. They praised the improved access to SICOMINES and the proactive stance of ARSP in promoting local participation.

These contracts are part of a broader initiative aimed at increasing Congolese involvement in the mining sector and supporting local entrepreneurship. ARSP Director General Miguel Kashal remains committed to continuing these efforts.
