FQM Limited CSR Group Witnesses Sustainable Development in Kalumbila Through Trident Foundation Limited’s Initiatives
A delegation from First Quantum Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Group recently embarked on a visit to FQM Trident Minerals in Kalumbila, Zambia.
The purpose of their visit was to gain a firsthand understanding and appreciation of the CSR activities being implemented in the communities surrounding the mine.
Spearheading these initiatives is the Trident Foundation Limited (TFL), which focuses on Agriculture, Health, Education, and Business Development, recognizing the vital role these sectors play in promoting growth and sustainability.

The visiting team was a diverse group, representing various countries and regions, including Zambia’s Kansanshi Foundation, Panama, Argentina, Mauritania, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.

During their visit, the team had the opportunity to tour and observe several infrastructure projects that were established and supported by the Mine.
Among the notable projects were the recently commissioned Kisasa Police Post, which aims to enhance safety and security in the region, and the Kisasa Water Project, which plays a crucial role in providing access to clean and reliable water for the local population.
Additionally, the team visited the Mbole Skills Training Centre, a facility designed to empower individuals with valuable skills for personal and professional growth, and the upcoming Kalumbila Community Radio Station, set to become a valuable platform for community engagement and information dissemination.
One of the essential aspects of TFL’s CSR initiatives is supporting local entrepreneurs. The visiting team had the privilege of meeting with several entrepreneurs who had been trained and assisted with start-up returnable grants from TFL.
These grants have proven instrumental in empowering local business owners, helping them establish and grow their enterprises, contributing to the overall economic development of the region.
