FQM Trident Limited wins prestigious Chamber of Mines Environmental Award
FQM Trident Limited has been awarded by the prestigious Chamber of Mines, Best Performer in Environmental Management 2021.
Speaking when receiving the award at the mining operation, General Manager, Mr Junior Keyser said the external recognition bears testimony to the visible efforts made by Trident towards sustainable and environmentally responsible mining practices.
He further added that the recognition of Trident’s efforts in managing the environment using best practices, and approval by host communities and relevant regulatory bodies signifies the confidence that stakeholders have in the mining company. I would like to commend the Environmental team for a job well done in scooping this award and to continue to push the operation on a continuous improvement path. Environmental Manager,
Mr Kachiwala Sapalo added that the Platinum award is an indication of meeting compliance requirements and being proactive to ensure that environmental liabilities are considerably reduced. It has been a team effort by management and the employees to aim high and achieve our environmental objectives.
This is the second win for Trident over the past five years. The award was conferred on Trident at the 6th National Conference on Occupational Health, Safety and Environment on 4th November 2022 in Ndola.
