GECAMINES represents the launching ceremony of lime production for the new GCK built in a China-Belgium-DRC partnership
On an official short-term mission in Haut-Katanga, His Excellency the Minister of Mines, Professor Willy KITOBO SAMSONI participated with his colleague from the industry Mr. Julien PALUKU, this Monday, October 26, 2020 in Likasi at the launch ceremony of lime production from the new GCK (Grande Cimenterie du Katanga) kiln built in a China-Belgium-DRC partnership represented by GECAMINES.
This colorful ceremony was attended by all the Authorities of the province of Haut-Katanga and even representatives of the neighboring provinces of the Grand Katanga area.
In the guestbook, the Minister of Mines left a word of encouragement to the company for innovative initiatives to produce lime and cement on site
It should be noted that this new production of lime as well as the future production of cement which will be obtained in the kiln at the end of construction in the same factory will allow our country to retain in our economy a lot of currency lost in the importation of these products used as inputs in metallurgical processing companies and for the need for infrastructure construction.
