Kinshasa to host the first International Industry and Technological Innovation Exhibition in May (Julien Paluku) – DRC

The city of Kinshasa will host in May, the first International Trade Fair for Industry and Technological Innovation. More than 5,000 people are expected for 3 days around the industrial sector and will address several other themes.

The announcement was made Wednesday by the Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku, during a press conference.

The major goal of these meetings is to improve the image of the country through the many industrial opportunities offered by this first international exhibition.

For Julien Paluku, of course the Government has resigned but in the name of the continuity of the State, he wanted to outline the main features of this first Salon which will be held with the help of his successor.

Thus, insists Julien Paluku, this Show is intended as an opportunity to take stock of the existing industry in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A document which traces not only the difficulties but also the opportunities of the industrial sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will be produced at the end of this meeting.

Also, the various recommendations of this Salon will make it possible to consolidate the document of the Congolese Government’s industrial policy and strategies.

This Fair also aims to identify and finance 20 priority projects for each economic zone, especially with the support of partners.

It will also promote the signing of contracts, partnerships, cooperation agreements and technology sharing.

It is a means of sharing experiences, exchanging knowledge between industrialists in the Democratic Republic of Congo and elsewhere.

According to Julien Paluku, thanks to this Show, international industrialists will be attracted to invest in the Democratic Republic of Congo and thus increase the country’s industrialization rate while reducing external dependence. “Because, they will first have an idea of the industrial opportunities and potential of the country.”

These meetings, explains Julien Paluku, are also intended as a means to promote micro-industries through group credit in order to give young industrial entrepreneurs the chance to boost this sector.

According to Julien Paluku, Minister of Industry, five results are expected at the end of this Show.

It is:

1 ° the creation of a national school of trades and industrial technologies (ENAMTI);

2 ° the creation of a single window for the collection of taxes in the industrial sector;

3 ° launching of the process of digital identification of products by stamping;

4 ° the determination of the mining production quota to be destined for the local industry;

5 ° the creation of the Industrial Development Authority (ADI DRC) for the effective and efficient management of the strategic orientations of industrial development, the control and application of legal metrology as well as standardization.
