Position reports to: Planning Supervisor
Purpose
- To diligently execute maintenance planning & scheduling functions according to instructions and prescribed standards. To ensure that optimum equipment availability and reliability is realised.
- To ensure the provision of cost effective maintenance services within the designated area. The post holder will contribute to the provision of a high quality service to internal customers of the Company. The post holder’s specific responsibility will be to deliver an effective and responsive maintenance management service.
Key Responsibilities
- This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
- Planning and Scheduling of daily, Weekly, Monthly and other scheduled Maintenance/Project works including Shutdowns.
- Making follow-ups on the work Orders waiting parts in collaboration with the expediting officer
- Ensuring the timely availability of spares for scheduled maintenance/projects jobs.
- Conducting Planning Meetings with stakeholders
- Raising and closing of work orders in the ERP maintenance module
- Preparing and presenting weekly and monthly performance reports
- Performing RCFA on structural/Civil works failures and chairing analysis meetings
- Ensure the accuracy of the ERP Maintenance module database, task list, equipment history, spares lists, and Applied Parts Lists (APLs).
- Shut Down Coordination as required
- Maintaining good working relationships with internal and external departmental employees
- Ensuring work orders are opened with correct work order integrity i.e. status, dates, codes, Labour hrs., downtime, descriptions, PM tasks, safety notes, serial numbers in, sales order status, etc.;
- Ensuring work orders are closed promptly with correct work order integrity i.e. dates, codes, Labour, Labour hrs., downtime, descriptions, PM tasks, serial numbers In/Out, sales order status, purchase order status, etc.;
- Creation of purchase requisitions as need be;
- Filing and archiving of planning records as may be deemed necessary;
- Raising the service schedule plan and avail the template plan to the backlog team
- Raising the component change out forecast plan
- Preparing the Budget for the section
- PM & Schedule compliance adherence/Daily compliance
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum of a Craft Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum experience 3 – 5 years in a similar role
- Previous work experience in a large copper mining operation will be advantageous.
- Must be Computer literate.
- Use of PRONTO will be an added advantage.
