Makutano 2020: “the DRC should no longer rely on mines for its development” (Anthony Kinzo) – DRC

Antony Kinzo, Director General of the National Agency for the Promotion of Industry (ANAPI), presented, this Thursday, December 10, investment opportunities in the DRC, to the participants of the 6th edition of the Makutano Forum, considered the first business network in Central Africa.

In his presentation, he presented the potentialities of financing the construction of some hydroelectric dams in the DRC, including: the hydroelectric dam on the Ubangi river and associated networks, the hydroelectric plant project on the Luapula river and associated networks. , and the construction of the Similiki hydroelectric power station in North Kivu.

Regarding the infrastructure sector, he presented the road infrastructure of the DRC which deserves rehabilitation to promote free trade. He notably praised the agricultural sector.

In his intervention, the CEO of ANAPI to call on the main economic actors to transport the Congolese economy outside the mines, to promote the development of Africa. Because, according to him, the Congo holds the key to Africa’s development.

“We must no longer rely on mines. We must transport our economy. We must rely on agriculture, digital technology. Africa is late because the Congo is not waking up. The one who wants to do with Africa has to do with the DRC, ”said Antony Kinzo.
