Metso Outotec launches digital tools to improve plant maintenance
Company says solutions can improve process performance and reduce energy consumption.
Metso Outotec has started launching what it calls “leading-edge” digital solutions to ensure the optimal operation and maintenance of iron ore pelletising plants over their entire lifecycle.
The company said it is part of a broader effort to improve process performance, production capacity and product quality while at the same time cutting reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.
The new digital solutions include the Metso Outotec Control System OCD-4D and the Planet Positive Optimus advanced process control system for ensuring a stable and efficient process and the VisioPellet pellet sized-control system for optimising the pelletising process.
It will also include the Pallet Car Condition Monitoring System for improving preventive maintenance planning and execution. Additionally, the company said it will begin operator training with advanced simulation technology.
The benefits of the solutions, according to the company, will be improved process performance, reduced energy consumption, safer operations and improved preventive maintenance planning with real-time equipment condition monitoring.
Olavo Nolasco, director, Product Competitiveness, Ferrous and Heat Transfer, Metso Outotec, said the solutions can be implemented in all iron ore pelletising plants.
