Nigerian Professor Applauds Zimbabwe’s Lithium Ban
Africa appears to be coming into its own as now, Zimbabwe has banned its export of Lithium needed for making batteries and electric cars, asking those who need them to move manufacturing to Zimbabwe. This comes after the release of Mali from the shackles of France and the refusal of Ghana and Ivory Coast to export raw cocoa. Finally, some African leaders are beginning to do the needful. Said Dr Henrietta Onwuebguzie
”It is my hope that the African Union, will support other countries to move in a similar direction. This will compel fairness in international trade. For way too long unfair practices have been the order of the day, in international relations.
Africa holds 80% of all the resources the world needs, and yet is described as “poor”, and defined by poverty. If all African countries truly unite with a strategy that compels fair terms of engagement in all ramifications of international relations, we will win.
We own the gold, yet countries that don’t own it, use it against us. We need to use it to back up our currently dollarized debt payments, because then, we will be at an advantage. Let’s put on our thinking caps.”
Africans wake up! Kill corruption and focus on nation building! African Union (AU), rise to the occasion. African values compel us to always seek what is fair, right and just. Let’s begin to act true to our culture.
