Purpose of the Role
- Develop community safety awareness programs through a consultative process and work through existing structure to effectively implement and monitor performance.
- Collaborate with the Health Department and respective government department to drive community hygiene and sanitation in a systematic and measurable manner.
- Facilitate development and implementation of an integrated water resources management strategy for community water infrastructure in collaboration with the mandated government institutions.
- Develop and implement a holistic monitoring program for KPIs associated with community safety, hygiene, sanitation and community water management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate sustainable utilisation and management of the piped community water infrastructure investment by KML and developing sustainability strategies for each of the units.
- Motivate, support and sustain community water resources user groups that shall be self reliant.
- Facilitate sustainable utilisation and management of the community boreholes development by KML in the CSR catchment area.
- Facilitate security of land for the piped water infrastructure and ensure community participation in sustainability programs.
- Liaise with all key stakeholders in water resources management.
- Develop and implement community Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs through existing local structures such as education structures, traditional structures and faith based structures.
- Manage community safety programs in collaboration with mandated stakeholders such as the Road Transport and Safety Agency, Zambia Police and the Community Crime Prevention Units.
- Manage performance and deliverables through clearly defined objectives, targets and Key Performance Indicators aligned with the above scope.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary education (or equivalent) in public health sciences, natural resources management or related fields.
Experience & Skills:
- At least 2 years in a relevant field.
- Experience in Occupation health, safety and hygiene will be an added advantage.
