Red Rock excited about second – phase DRC exploration
Republic of Red Rock Resources, listed on the London Stock the Congo (DRC) Exchange, has contracted Minex Consulting to explore minerals to start a second phase of exploration for its copper belt license in the south of the Democratic.
The license, which Red Rock calls the Luanshimba project, provides for copper and cobalt mineralization, according to an initial exploration program in December 2018.
The project is 80% owned by Red Rock, the rest by a local partner.
“We have received very promising results from the first exploration in a favorable geological environment, which indicates the presence of copper and cobalt mineralization at depth.
“At the end of the rainy season, we would like to take the opportunity to follow up on these earlier results and learn more about the mineralization and lithological units that it contains,” said Red Bell Chairman Andrew Bell.
He added that a controlled and modular program would allow the company to test hypotheses and increase activities quickly if justified.
A third phase of exploration is likely to involve reverse drilling for approximately 2,500 meters.
“We are in one of the most promising environments around the world for the minerals we are looking for, we are working with qualified and experienced local partners, and we are excited about starting this new phase of our operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”
