Introduction
Kamoa Copper (DRC) is looking for suitably qualified and experienced Senior Rock Engineering to join our dynamic team. Purpose of the job The purpose of the role is to provide specialist Rock Engineering services and expertise to Kamoa Copper which will include amongst other: Inputs in terms of technical direction, technical requirements to Senior Management of the group; Inputs in terms of standards, procedures and codes of practice which need to be updated on a continuous basis; Ensuring of compliance to the aforementioned. Close liaison with a Corporate Rock Engineer on Group level will be required in support Mineral Resource Strategy planning.
Job description
- Act as internal specialist on site level
- Provide effective rock engineering services to the mine
- Provide inputs on mining related studies, mine designs, and infrastructure layouts.
- Give inputs to and implement policies, standards, procedures and codes of practice at site level
- Provide geotechnical guidance and QA/QC on all development and mining activities
- Assist in developing site specific geotechnical monitoring programs and standards
- Complete geotechnical investigations on the performance of all mining related support systems
- Gather and interpret geotechnical data
- Compiles Rock Engineering reports
- Assist in developing a geotechnical engineer training/mentoring program
- Proactively identify risks
- Recommendation on preventative actions
- Communicate timeously and effectively
- Coaching and Mentoring
Minimum requirements
- Rock Mechanics Certificate
- Diploma/Degree in related field
- 5 years practical training, Computer and report writing skills, experience with Microsoft office software packages with influence in excel.
- 8-10 years in Rock Engineering profession
