SICOMINES SA donates sewing and styling machines to the Lycée technique de la Gombe

The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday October 11, 2023 in the facilities of this educational establishment in the presence of the provincial coordinator of Catholic Convention Schools (ECCATH), Father Romain Nyanga, and a delegation from Sicomines SA/Kinshasa led by Grace Sasesula.

Of course, the honor fell to Mrs. Jackie Bapile, prefect of studies, to receive it on behalf of the first and main beneficiaries: her students.

In her special remarks, Grace Kasesula of SICOMINES SA outlined the reason for the donation in these terms. “ As a woman, I would speak in the interest of the girl’s education.

The young girl today must be supported for better development. This is why we chose the Gombe technical high school in order to support these young girls to emerge, to learn and to undertake so that their future is better. This is why we had materials that were necessary for their education ,” she declared.

High school prefect When you love children, you want them to have quality education. And who says quality speaks of good quality material to be able to train the young girl so that this young girl can finally take charge of herself .”

She noted that the finalist from her establishment may not go to university because with the training received, she already has a job. “.

I always tell my students: you have the money in your hands as soon as you finish the first year, which was the third year at the time .” Normal since you can start sewing or doing hair, and make honest money. “ So I’m very happy myself today. With this material, we will give even more to their training and these young girls will have complete training to take care of themselves ,” she added.

“ Everyone knows that what affects the quality training of a young girl affects her home of tomorrow ,” declared the Provincial Coordinator of Catholic Convention Schools, Father Romain Nyanga, who will consider that “ It is in this sense that Sicomines provides additional tools in the training of these young girls here in a school open to all girls, especially those who come from the difficult conditions at the Kokolo camp, those from Lingwala .”

His hope is that even if this act of generosity is a first, at least it will not be the last for SICOMINES SA, invited to repeat it both in the high school concerned and in other educational establishments.

This is the same wish expressed by Elysée Kabeya Ndumbi, on behalf of his fellow students. “ Already, I am (…) very happy with all this donation because we were lacking.

I would like to say a word for myself and all my colleagues: may God give you even more than you have at this time so that you can give more than that in other schools,” she concluded.

It should be noted that a company under Congolese law with 100% Congolese and Chinese shareholders, SICOMINES SA is carrying out several interventions of this type both in Lualaba where it has its operating headquarters and elsewhere in the country.

In its specifications, its interventions are in social areas: health, education, water, electrification, environment, agricultural service roads etc., apart from mining and the financing of infrastructure projects emanating from the authorities governmental.
