Overall Job Purpose
To ensure that all Geospatial Data in Kalumbila Minerals Limited is stored, backed-up and categorized in a manner that enables ease of analysis and reporting and also to create a one stop shop for information relating to all mining activities inclusive of the plant and other related disciplines, e.g. TWE and the KDHC.
Specific Job Responsibility
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
- Annual updating of legal plans for statutory/regulatory purposes
- Maintain an updated working plan for mining operations
- Ensures that the GET master file is updated regularly
- Responsible for Uploading GETs information onto provision
- Production of survey statistics (daily, weekly and monthly figures)
- Responsible for coordinating all safety matters pertaining to survey section
- Compiles and reports monthly survey reports and safety statistics for the section
- Assists the Mine Technical personnel and other departments to compile up to-date Geo Spatial data whenever is required
- Assists training of Junior surveyors in software ( GIS,Isite studio)
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Specific Competencies
- Well versed in the use of Surpac, Isite Studio, GIS, Global mapper Pix 4D
- Ability to interpret and implement mine plans and effectively achieves targets and goals
- Basic First Aid and Basic eaHealHealth n nnnjjsidjjdjjjdjdjHealth and Safety Knowledge
Experience required to perform in this job
- At least 5 years’ experience in the mining environment
- At least 3 years’ experience in the same or similar position preferably in open pit.
- Sound knowledge of Draughting software eg Microstation, Auto Cad GIS etc.
- Practical knowledge of open cast mining operations
- Advanced computer literacy
- Excellent report writing skills
- Be physically fit and be able to pass pre-employment and medical examinations.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills in English language.
- Basic first Aid and Basic Health and Safety knowledge.
Qualifications
- A Degree or Diploma in Mine, Geodetic, Geomatic, Land or Engineering Surveying qualification from a recognised Institution.
- Able to drive and hold a current Zambian Drivers licence
