Purpose

To diligently execute condition monitoring and precision maintenance functions according to instructions and prescribed standards ensuring that optimum equipment availability and reliability is realised.

Key Responsibilities

This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

• Vibration Data Collection and Analysis.
• Thermography Implementation and Inspection.
• Oil Analysis Implementation – Facilitate proper oil sampling procedures and techniques.
• Perform Shaft Laser Alignments
• Ensuring that Condition Monitoring issues are addressed through work order generation and tracking.
• Conduct thickness inspections of Tanks, Pipes and all non-statutory items.
• Preliminary data collection for Root Cause Failure analysis of repetitive failures or bad actors captured from condition monitoring.
• Collaborate with other departments to check the functional integrity of installed instruments during shutdowns such as Vibration accelerometers installed on critical units.
• Developing and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Minimum of a Technician Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Very Good understanding of equipment composition and function.

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong Analytical Skills

Experience

• Minimum experience 3 year work Experience.
• Previous work experience in a large copper mining operation will be advantageous.
• Must be Computer literate.
