The DRC produced 10.783 million carats of diamonds in 2020, down 23% from 2019

The Democratic Republic of the Congo produced 10.783 million carats of diamonds during the year 2020, including 2.617 million carats of industrial diamonds and 8.166 million carats for artisanal diamonds, according to data from the Central Bank of Congo. 

However, diamond production in 2020 is down 23.09% from the production volume in 2019 valued at 14.021 million carats of diamond.

The record for diamond production over the past 7 years was reached in 2017 with a volume of 18.891 million carats of diamonds, of which 3.488 million carats came from the industrial sector and 15.404 million carats produced by craftsmanship.
