Three New Congolese Companies Sign Subcontracting Contracts under the Sino-Congolese Program
Three Congolese companies have secured subcontracting agreements under the Sino-Congolese Program, signing works contracts in Kinshasa on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, according to a press release from the Congolese Agency for Major Works (ACGT).
As part of the Sino-Congolese Program, the three companies obtained subcontracting positions with the Sino-Congolese Infrastructure Company (Sisc SA).
The contracts cover several key construction projects, including the University of Mbandaka, Kananga stadium, and Tshikapa airport rehabilitation.
These projects will now be carried out by Congolese companies, thanks to subcontracting arrangements initiated in March 2024 following the signing of the fifth amendment.
Since March 2024, Sisc has been tasked with incorporating Congolese companies into the execution of works as part of the revised Sino-Congolese program.
This revision led to the signing of the fifth amendment between the Congolese government and the Chinese company group, Gek.
In addition to the contracts for these three projects, the press release notes that eight other projects have already been signed and entrusted to Congolese companies.
These projects include the modernization of Lodja airport, the development of Lumumba-Ville, the rehabilitation of the ISP Bukavu framework building, the construction of the Bunia stadium and its access road, the Patience Road project (also known as Kamba Road), and the rehabilitation of road number 25 (Isiro – Mpoko), among others.
