Triumph at the Ballot Box: Félix Tshisekedi Secures Re-Election with 73% Support in DRC’s Presidential Showdown!
Re-elected with 73% of the votes, Félix Tshisekedi has 5 years to consolidate the achievements of the first five-year term.
At 4:02 PM (1 hour later in the eastern provinces of the DRC), under the daylight, the president of the CENI, Denis Kadima, began reading decision 130 of the CENI proclaiming the provisional results of the presidential election on December 20, 2023.
Surrounded by members of the electoral commission, Denis Kadima indicated that candidate Felix Tshisekedi received a total of 13 million votes out of 18 million voters, representing 73% of the votes.
“Provisionally elected President of the Republic is Candidate Felix Tshisekedi Tshilombo,” said Denis Kadima.
Re-elected for a second term, President Tshisekedi is followed by Moise Katumbi, who received a total of 3 million votes, or 18%.
Martin Fayulu secured 3% of the votes, while Denis Mukwege obtained 0.22% of the votes.
