DGRAD and CAMI Urge Mining Right Holders to Pay 2025 Royalties Before Deadline

The General Directorate of Administrative, Judicial, Land, and Participation Revenues (DGRAD) and the General Directorate of the Mining Cadastre (CAMI) have issued a joint notice reminding all holders of mining and quarry rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo to fulfill their royalty payments for the 2025 financial year.

According to the notice, payment of the royalty on mining rights is contingent on obtaining debit and collection notes related to annual surface rights per square.

These documents are now available at CAMI counters, and all holders must retrieve them to process their payments within the designated timeframe.

The deadline for payment is set for March 31, 2025. DGRAD and CAMI have warned that failure to comply will result in legal consequences.

Any holder who fails to meet the deadline risks severe penalties, including forfeiture of their mining and/or quarry rights. “CAMI reserves the right to initiate forfeiture procedures for unpaid rights, without prejudice to DGRAD applying the legal penalties outlined by law,” the statement emphasized.

The notice also reminds stakeholders that under Article 196 of the Mining Code, maintaining the validity of mining rights requires full payment of 100% of the annual surface rights.

DGRAD and CAMI urge all mining right holders to act promptly to avoid any disruptions to their operations.
